Bedtime Ritual

The routine is fix daily if daddy is not in. From 8:30pm - milk, change of diaper, brush teeth, and off Joel goes to our room. Fan's on, lights off, and I leave him alone in there. Sometimes he calls for me, sometimes he quietly lie on the bed (like now).

I cant wait to scurry him off to the bedroom by 9pm, I have to work. And this has taken up alot of my time. I have no time to talk to him, no time to read him story books. My ex boss said its very important but I dont have the time for it.

I felt sorry for him. Let's hope life will be much better for us this year! Pray for good changes. I long to watch my 9pm serial, I want to just do nothing and be a couch potato!

YC finally sent me our family photo, taken at Jac's place. Good camera, I like the color and resolution. Except........ Joel's really has that michievious, up to no good look.

Boring Wkends

Wkends were boring for Joel, tiring for me. With nothing much on, we cooped up at my parents place. Joel starts to take to the bike station, talk on the phone with nobody on the other line, take snapshots with me. There's no cable tv, so we resort to watching old serials.. YAWN! Daddy, quick come home pls...

Smart!

His creative brain juice is churning.. he flip over the float we got for him, and it became a sofa. He enjoyed sitting on it, watching tv and drinking... So relaxing.

Oh My God!

All thanks to Enxi, she pestered her mom & her nanny so much.. they had to go dig out my sis childhood photo. Which happened that I was in one of those oldie photos. Nobody could recognise me.. my parents fought over it..my mom insisted that it wasn't me. But its ME! Me at ~6 yrs old, with my thumb sucking sis still a baby. My god! I dont think I saw that photo before. Time flies, we have produced our own off springs now... my sis is more productive, she got 2!!

Learn Through Play

There are so many toys in our home. Joel played with them and let his imagination run wild. The antenna on the remote control is his joss stick. He stucked them in between the sofa gap and pray. And when I said 'no praying pls', he started to shift that antenna as if its his car gear. Hmmm, kids really do observe very well.

And there is the dustbin, he cant reach for the bin at home, I dont know where he learn (perhaps nanny's place) to throw things in the dustbin. So he threw his soiled diaper, paper, tissues into the bin. But beware! Too happily throwing, he started to dump in his dirty clothes, things that were not meant to be dumped is into the bin..HAHAHAH!

Its amazing watching him grow up! 妈咪好爱你!!

28 Months Today

Fast approaching his 3 year old birthday. Joel is a super active (everyone thinks so too) boy. He's got good motor skills, loves to mix around, hearing skills is good (esp when I scream at him), definitely a normal boy. EXCEPT his speech, very slow for his age. The only few English words that he can say is Bye and go. But today! He spoke Chinese! I wasn't sure at first but after many repeats.. Yes! He said 这个咧. While I was washing his butt in the toilet, I told him to put everything back, he did that, and point to the shower foam on the floor and said 这个咧? I thought I was hearing things.

Then while helping me with the laundry, and Yes, he helps to put the laundry in and out of the machine, for wash and hanging. For every piece of clothes he passed to me, he said it again 这个咧, 这个咧. So cute!

Confirmed! He's speaking Chinese, and in 3 words! I think he's like me & Daddy, we are both very good and well verse in Chinese. Plus the nanny speaks to him in mandarin helps.

Way to go! Speak more please, 加油!!

Jalene's 1st Month

Finally!

We have finally decided to commit a 8 class package for Joel. After having gone for a few trial classes, we concluded that Gymboree is the one. Aside from the slighty far location @ Harbor Front, we like the classroom size, the equipment, cleanliness and the program they offered. So Joel! Learn something Ok! So from now, we will be at Harbor Front every Sat for the next 9 weeks (1 free lesson - woopee).

Evening Routine

This boy is forever in changing mode. His latest - he loves to drag his winnie the pooh pulley, walk the void deck, talk on public phone, and head home.. The must complete steps or you will hear objection noises :)

Terror 2!!!

I'm very sure he's going to get even more naughty. Comtemplating to bringing a cane out...

Sleepless

Tossed & turned on the 1st day of Year 2008. Cant sleep, insomnia, perhaps too much coffee? Joel too... woke up very early. The only one who is still sleeping like a log? Daddy of course!
